Here's a bit of my analysis:
"The Singing Butler" depicts several things about what it means to be human. First, the painting has a rich couple, being helped by a maid and a butler. This aspect of the painting is about class, and how all humans, no matter what, are limited (or promoted) by their class. The maid and butler are of a lower class then the rich couple, which you can see from their clothing and attitudes. They are there to take care of the couple, which is why they are holding umbrellas above them. Because the couple is of a much higher class then the maid and the butler, they are at a disadvantage in society and so have to take care of others. This says alot about what it means to be human, and how no matter who you are, there is always someone above and below you.

Learning, and Challenges
I didn't so much as learn today as i went more indepth with the painting that i chose for my project, and payed alot more attention to the details of the painting. I haven't really had any challenges yet, other than that some of the blog questions seem pointless because there just asking what i'm doing. My next steps are to finish my research about Jack Vettriano and his painting. I don't have any more questions as of now. -anna

Experiences Thus Far...
I have chosen a piece of art for my Human Form in Art Research Project. I chose "Ladder to the Moon", painted by Georgia O' Keefe. I chose it because it is interesting and unique looking. I don't really have any questions about it though. The project is pretty straightforwards so far.
My next step is to finish the research about the specific art piece that I chose.
More to come!
